Pinwheel

Here are some pictures of the kiddos enjoying the pinwheel MeMom gave them last year. They had a lot of fun seeing how the wind made it move... that is until RJ pulled each piece of the pinwheel off when I wasn't looking. *sigh* It was fun while it lasted!

Patience!

Patience is a virtue!!! We let the dogs upstairs tonight for 10 minutes... it would have been longer... but in that time Lacey found food to nibble on throughout the playroom and Carleigh ate a piece of a new puzzle I just bought for the kids. URGH!!!!! Really??? Dog - you HAD to pick a piece of the new puzzle that I literally just got on Saturday!!!!! Sorry dogs... back downstairs you go. We tried to be nice and give you time away from your 'dog cave' but when one of you does something naughty, all are punished!! Back to the 'dog cave' you all go.

Mother-Daughter Day PLUS Phillies = Perfect!

Phillies game today with Morgan! Grandmom came over and watched RJ while Morgan and I headed into the city for her first 'real' game (she went to a preseason game, but it just isn't the same!)

We got down to the city with no delays and it was an easy drive! We went to McFadden's and of course with her given choices she picked the salad... I on the other hand got the cheese fries. (Just for the record, she did share some of my fries and I did eat some of her salad!!)
"But I'm HUNGRY Momma!"
FOOD!
After our lunch we headed into the ballpark. She had a really good time! She used Daddy's noculars (binoculars) to watch the Phillies bat when they were at the plate. She thinks I actually know them! "Who is your next friend batting?" Love her! It was hot, but we had a little bit of a breeze and we are in the shade so we had it perfect!

Morgan watched the entire game and in the bottom of the 7th spotted someone with ice cream. Guess what she wanted? Yup, ice cream. We went and got some for her... of course after ten bites she was done, but she was so well behaved I couldn't say no to her!!

The Phillies won! Yea Phillies!! 5-3. Then we began our journey home. It took over 20 minutes to get from the stadium onto 76. Once we got on 76 it was VERY slow moving, but at least we were moving!! I am not comfortable with going on 95 so I had no other choice but 76. But, like I said... once were on the Schuylkill the ride was slow, but tolerable... just getting onto 76 was a KILLER!!! (Lots of rude drivers!!!!!!!)

Fun day!! I am glad Morgan could join me at the game, we had a great time!!

p.s. Morgan was very happy to see the Phanatic in green! At the preseason game he was red for paint the town red! He came out several times and she liked watching him pretend to surf, to shake his belly, and to put his shirt over someones head!

Just another Saturday

I found one thing I was looking for today at yard sales! The old fashion wood puzzles. MeMom has some at her house and the kiddos and I really like them! I like them so much better than the newer cardboard pieces... they are less easy to destroy! 5 of those puzzles and one pair of Thomas pj's for 3 bucks. good deal... but really the only deal. I got lost for over 45 minutes today. Daddy took the GPS with him so I only had directions to go by and must have gotten FAR off track... **sigh** I also got two new board games for school... a dollar a game... pretty good deal too. But in three hours that is all I bought. Ugh... I haven't been having much luck!

After we got home we had a little bit of sprinkler fun, then ate lunch and took early naps. Kids woke up just in time to head to church. We ran to Lowe's afterward and then home for supper. Worked in the veggie garden and then ate dessert. Kiddos in bed, time to clean up the house some and hit the hay myself!

"Carnibal"

"I want to go to the Carnibal" out of Morgan's mouth!

Our local fire company is holding it's annual carnival this weekend and next weekend. Since Bob works next weekend, we went this weekend. We like to go and support our local fire department, just in case we ever need them!! (And Bob works with the chief... kind of obligated!) It wasn't very crowded due to the heat I am guessing! There were only a few rides the kiddos could go on (it isn't a big carnival) and they went on them several times! RJ wanted to go in the firehouse 'ride', Morgan said no thank you. Don't worry... RJ REFUSED to come down and Morgan had to go up and retrieve him... what is it with my kids and being afraid of slides? After RJ got 'stuck' we took rides on a couple ponies! (This was the firehouse - I was too busy trying to con him to go down the slide to take any pictures of him at the top)

Rita's was set up at the carnival so we decided to enjoy them for dessert! Morgan took a spin on their wheel for a dollar... she won us a week worth of Rita's! 7 free Rita's coupons! Way to go kiddo!

After we enjoyed our cold water ice we headed home before it got too late! I hope the carnival picks up, I know the carnival is a big fundraiser for the fire department!

Too long... missed good friends!

Today the kiddos and I went to the Moyer's pool with MeMom for a couple hours as soon as they woke up from sleeping... before it got so hot you couldn't step out of your house! It was already hot at 10am... how do I know for sure? Even MeMom went in the pool!! That is a rare occurrence!

Came home to eat lunch and then had naps. Well, RJ did, apparently Morgan just rested. After naps we headed to visit our dear friends that we haven't seen for too long. Uncle Cameron, Deklan and AJ were so much fun to hang out with! We brought food in and played at their house. I am so happy Cameron and I have remained friends! We were talking about it and we realized that we have known each other almost 20 years! Wow! (But we are NOT old!)
I just LOVE Morgan's mentality!!
Hope she is ALWAYS in charge!!
Just look at that face!

A review of our events!

So... a bit of writing to capture the whole day!! We headed out a little before 9am for our mini vacation! Unfortunately Bob didn't think the GPS was correct (and I have NO clue) so we did not follow the GPS and realized to late it was telling us the correct way... so... our trip 'detour' tacked on an extra 25 minutes. We did make it safe and sound to Dutch Wonderland and after suntan lotioning, changing, and RJ pottying... we got into the park just a few minutes after 11am. We checked the schedule and planned our day around seeing the Thomas show and the Princess show! The kiddos went on several rides and then we got lunch. After lunch we did just a ride or two then got to see a fun-filled Thomas show full of singing! RJ and Morgan both enjoyed it!! After Thomas we went on some more rides then headed to the water park area. We stayed in the water area for a while and then headed back into the dry park just in time to see the princess show! The princess show was nice because Princess Brooke invites the kiddos to come sit on rugs in front of her and she reads a book to them. Morgan and RJ (yea!) sat on the rugs and listened to the entire story without interrupting! After the princess read along we went back to tackling the rides! Morgan refused the little roller coaster (that only goes in a circle with two little hills). It was even purple and she still said no. RJ was a little bit too small for it! Next year I think RJ will enjoy it with me!! Around 6:30 we finished up with one last ride on the merry-go-round before leaving the park.

We headed to our hotel and after deciding whether to go out or not, our final decision was to eat poolside at the hotel! We all enjoyed the water and then ate supper. After supper Bob and I watched the kiddos have fun in the kiddo section of the pool yard.

We all went to sleep... Bob and Morgan, RJ and I... Morgan fell out of bed two times during the night! One of the times she woke up hysterically screaming and almost inconsolable. Of course, she woke RJ up too and I had to get out of bed and comfort her... She calmed down FINALLY and RJ started screaming. I then comforted him before we all went back to sleep. RJ is a squirmy sleeper. Needless to say I didn't get a lot of sleep... hand in my face, foot kicking my stomach, head on my pillow, feel in my face, you get the point! We all woke up the next morning and started a new day!

After grabbing breakfast at Sheetz (way too expensive at our hotel) we headed out to our buggy ride. We waited for about 20 minutes for our turn to ride. The kiddos enjoyed it. I always get my hopes up that I will see the farmers working in the fields, but it didn't happen again. oh well. We saw lots of corn that we were informed was animal feed, not for human consumption. We also saw an orchard of peaches. Yum!

After our buggy ride we went to the Strasburg Railroad. We decided against taking the ride, we thought RJ might not have the attention span to sit still that long... We got pictures and ate at the train station before heading to the outlets for a little shopping.

We stopped at Bob's favorite furniture store before we headed to the outlets. A long hot afternoon of shopping and Miller's Restaurant for supper before heading back to the outlets for one last store for Bob before heading home!

Morgan passed out immediately... RJ passed out five minutes from home! Ha!! He tried his hardest, he just couldn't fight the urge to sleep any longer!

We all had a great time, hot, but a great time!!

I leave you with some pictures from our shows!

Some pictures from Thomas the Train show!

Some pictures from the Princess show!

Buggy-Train-Shopping

Today we took a buggy ride, went to the Strasburg Train (and took pictures but didn't do the train ride) (last year was a bit disastrous), and then did shopping at the outlets before hitting a hometown restaurant. It was a long, hot day!!

First came the buggy ride
Waiting...
And we are off!
Amazing views!

Then to the trains...

There was even a buggy the kiddos could sit in at the train station!

AND
A final ride while waiting at the outlets...
