It's Tuesday

Nothing too exciting to report today. Bob and I attempted to get more organized here in the house. We also did our daily training for the dogs. I don't think I mentioned yet...we ended up spending the money to get an invisible fence installed. We didn't really HAVE the extra money to spend, but I personally can't be giving them as much exercise as they need with the two little ones and was feeling very guilty! Did I mention we have a mud pit as a yard right now too...that doesn't entice me to want to go outside at all! They have gotten the shock a few times, but I think they are starting to get the idea! Hopefully it works!!

RJ is starting to sit up on his own now for short chunks of time! It is amazing how fast little ones change!! From being a blob that couldn't even hold his head up 6 months ago to a kiddo with a personality who is able to sit for short periods of time and is able to roll all over the place! He also puts everything in his mouth now! Wow!

6-MONTH CHECK-UP!!

I can't believe RJ is already 6 months old today!!! We had his 6 month appointment today! He weighs 15 pounds 3 ounces (putting him in the 15th percentile), is 27 inches long (70th percentile), and a head circumference of 16 (below the 5th percentile). My poor little guy has a tiny head...just like Morgan! He was so well behaved at the doctor! Again they couldn't find a second nurse to help with the shots so he got three different stabs...and did great! One little scream for the third one and then he was fine! What a brave and strong little guy! I have also decided his nickname coming out of my mouth a lot is 'Bubba'. I am not sure why, but it seems to slip off the tongue when I talk to him and I have heard Morgan refer to him as Bubba too...so I must say it a lot!

At his appointment I asked about Morgan's MAJOR constipation issues (sorry Morgan if/when you read this). The doctor recommended giving her MiraLAX on top of the prescribed syrup we were giving her (two times a day). The MiraLAX is to go in a liquid once a day. I really hope this helps!! The doctor explained that when we think she is 'pushing' she is actually holding it in! GREAT...that makes me even more nervous...it has been 7 days since her last poop.... yiyiyi!

I still can't believe RJ is 6 months old...time really does fly!!

Just another MANIC Monday!

Wish I could say my kiddos were perfect angels all the time...just to remind myself they are not...exhibits A, B, C & D from this morning!

If any mom out there says their children never have a meltdown I would have a very hard time believing them!

Hail?!

I should have taken a picture of the hail we had! Crazy!! Morgan seemed amazed with the marble-sized hail that had fallen to the driveway. What a crazy day! From a warm 64 degree day to hail and 49 degrees!

Thank you MeMom and PopPop for taking us all out to supper! Yum!

Just a couple pictures attached off the kiddos to see!

Egg-cellent day!

We had a great day today! We started off the day by hurrying into the car to get to an Easter egg hunt at Asher's (a local yummy chocolate store). RJ, Morgan and I actually got there early! We registered Morgan and then waited...and waited...what seemed like forever for the hunt to begin! The hunt Morgan took place in was ages 2-4-year-olds. I had practiced picking eggs up and putting them in her Easter egg basket with Morgan, but still wasn't sure how she would do with lots of other kids near her (major distractions) and outside in wet grass b/c it had rained over night! MeMom was there to help out...so on the word "GO" Morgan went into the roped off (kids only) egg covered grass 'rink'. With MeMom's help... Pick up the green egg, now pick up the pink egg Morgan did an awesome job! She filled her little pooh bear Easter basket! Great Job Morgan!!
After the hunt we went back to MeMom and PopPop's house to collect some more of our belongings! Headed home just in time for Aunt Megan and Uncle Andy to show up for a visit!! Morgan was very excited to see them and RJ slept for the first chunk of their visit! Soon after Morgan went down for her nap RJ woke up...perfect timing.

Morgan was still sleeping around 4:30 so A Megan, U Andy, RJ and I hit the 5pm mass service. RJ fell asleep during the first hymn and slept until communion time. He would have slept longer but a little guy with Down Syndrome in front of us started screeching and woke him up! He behaved for the last few minutes of church!

We got home from mass and Morgan had just woken up from her nap and was acting like a bear! She was so so so grouchy! (Morgan...for you...if you read this someday...you were acting like a crazy person! You had gotten naked in your crib and then refused to get your {wet} diaper changed! You were crying and screaming uncontrollably and were throwing yourself all over the playroom - LITERALLY! It took you over an hour to calm down! We tried time out and that didn't work... so I just let you be an uncontrollable mess until you were ready to calm down!)

After Morgan calmed down she was her happy self again and played with Aunt Megan and Uncle Andy and ate all the cheese off her slice of pizza for supper! U Andy liked watching RJ roll around on the floor. He seemed to roll around like the hand on a clock...RJ not U Andy!

Finally it was time for bed and the Lee's all fell asleep fast! We (including Momma) were pooped after a fun filled day!

First Foods!!!

WELCOME TO FOOD RJ!!!
I slaved over making sweet potato puree today...well...not really slaved (it was actually easy) but I can pretend!

We could not find the pad for the high chair so we had to improvise...we switched back and forth one of us holding RJ, one of us feeding him. Although he gave some funny expressions he ate like a champ! He seemed to really like the idea of eating! He definitely took to it better than Morgan's first foods!
Morgan had to get into the action too..."Organ do, Organ do" With a little help we managed to save RJ's tonsils...her goal was to shove the spoon as far in his mouth as she could...ha ha! He only gagged once or twice! Smiles!

We had a great time and I think RJ is really going to like this thing we call EATING!

Catch up!

Starting to write at 10pm Monday night...

Things have been insane since March 6th! Everything ended up falling into place...but it was a nail biter until the end! After settlement on Friday March 6th Bob and I really didn't believe it was all over and that the house was finally ours! The mortgage guy really was an incompetent fellow and his boss will definitely be getting a letter of concern from us! Why would you wait until one week before settlement to request a list of paperwork items that were needed!? Did I mention we asked what he would need dating back to December! Anyway...it ended up working out and the house was officially ours! Whew!

The following week was all about painting and wood projects! With the help of our wonderful friends Jo and Sean (and PopPop) we got the entire house painted in three days! The most help from Jo...ten million thanks to her! With aching backs and blisters on our hands we made the house look very colorful and homey!

Baby just woke up from his nap...will have to write more later...

Tuesday night around 6:15pm finally time to write again...

Painting got finished and Bob's wood projects got finished just in time! The dining room looks very nice...thanks to Sean for helping to make the cuts and Uncle Ken for helping with the crown molding... our dining room looks very 'elegant' or 'sophisticated' (whichever adjective Bob likes better!)

Monday the 16th was the big move in with the movers! What a nightmare!!!!! We have used the moving company several times before as well as my parents and a few of our friends have used them with no problems...we were very pleased in the PAST...this time we were not so happy! We have found so many problems including a broken knob on the washer, a misaligned knob on the dryer, a humongous chunk out of our dining room table, and scratches all over our china hutch and my chest of drawers (just to name a few!!) Of course we didn't get the 'extra' insurance b/c we never had trouble before...so we end up getting 60 cents per pound for each piece of furniture that had a problem. Not much when the washer/dryer bill came to just under 300 dollars to fix them!! Yickes...we better have one heavy washer...oh that is the other catch... they have a government provided weigh chart so they have weights for all items already predetermined! Doesn't matter what our furniture 'really' weighs... wonderful! Luckily we found a wonderful gentleman who refinishes tables etc for a reasonable price...and did a spectacular job! We were very grateful to find him! Let me know if you ever need a piece touched up! He just really did an amazing job!

Now time for all the unpacking to begin!! As of now (Tuesday 3-24) we have the entire playroom unpacked and put away, the entire kitchen and family room unpacked and put away, the dining room has no boxes in it (but we don't have our china cabinet filled yet) and the living room is almost de-boxed! We are still working on the upstairs and the basement has a million boxes still in it! We will probably go through them one at a time!

KIDS UPDATE!!

I feel so bad for neglecting this site for the last few weeks! RJ has done so many things and I feel like he has grown like crazy! He is now wearing comfortably 6 months clothing! 3 months clothes seem to be a little short length wise on his arms, torso, and legs! On Monday March 9th he found his tongue and started sticking it out and and in and wiggling it all about! By Thursday of that week he learned how to blow raspberries! Although I see more spit than anything else he definitely blows raspberries with his tongue out! I already mentioned as of this past Sat (the 21st) he can roll over from back to belly. He is starting to pull his legs up under him when he is on his belly so it seems like crawling is only a matter of time...I don't want to rush him though... b/c he won't be my little baby anymore once he can move! Although today as I type this he has moved a good amount of yardage just by rolling and is contently eating one of Morgan's jelly shoes!

Morgan just loves RJ! I have to keep a close eye on her b/c she will 'imitate' something I have done...just not as softly as I did! For example I will lean over RJ on all 4's to kiss his nose/chin, etc...Morgan will lay on top off RJ to kiss his nose, chin, etc... Lots of reminders that right now RJ is a lot smaller than she is! She loves to play peek-a-boo with him! She sometimes covers his face with a blanket (while I watch!) or she covers her fce with her hands...it is just too adorable! She loves to have books read to her and also likes to 'read' books out loud to herself! She is saying "I love you" much more understandable now! She refers to our new home as "new house" and "new room" and loves her playroom! She will clean up with help from the clean up song and Momma or Daddy. Her hair is starting to get long and out of control! Must always put something in it now or it falls in her eyes and she complains, "eyes". She is also into the sillies! Everything is either a game or "Organ do" is the comment we get. She is talking lots and lots however still is missing beginning sounds and other random sounds in words! I am really trying to get those sounds to come without pushing too hard...but come on cutie...you are driving me bunkers! She is also sitting on the potty every morning when she gets up from sleeping. We are about 75% successful...I'm not pushing it yet! We are taking our time with the potty training thing...there is no rush!! Watching her now she is reading a book out loud to herself and she is licking her finger to flip the page...must have picked that up from Daddy or me! She is such a sponge! I love it! It is amazing to see how much she learns everyday! It may not be as obvious as RJ (big things like rolling over) but I see it in her small behaviors and her vocabulary!

I think I've updated as much as I can and I'm sure you are tired of reading by now!! I just felt so bad for not writing for so long!! Hugs to all!!

We are up and running!

Sorry for such a long delay in catching this blog up and today probably won't be the day for all the updates...but I wanted to post a few pictures I took from St. Patty's Day! Aunt Megan bought the kiddos St. Patty's day shirts and the kiddos sported them well!

BIG NEWS!! As of Saturday RJ has added rolling from back to belly to his repertoire!! He has been rolling from belly to back for what seems like forever...but now has mastered flipping the other direction! So far he is only doing it from his back over his right side to his belly, but I'm sure he will master going both right and left before long!!

Will attempt to update either later tonight or tomorrow! Hugs to all!

I'm terrible this past week (or two)

Things have been CRAZY!! Don't have much time to write this morning but wanted to give a quick update! Today is the day!! Any time now the Movers are coming to grab a few important things here at MeMom/PopPop's house (like our bed and Morgan's crib) then we are headed to our new house where the movers will unpack all our precious belongs from their truck that have been in storage since August! I think I have forgotten what some of our furniture looks like!!

Morgan is doing ok with all this...she seems to be having a bit more of the 'terrible two' meltdowns when things don't go her way...but I am thinking it has more to do with our stress and all the 'weird' things we are doing...calling another house our home?! Strange and confusing to her! I hope she will adapt to not having MeMom and PopPop with her all the time!! I think that will be tough!

RJ has been doing new things with leaps and bounds!! He is almost sitting up by himself now! He will be 6 months (already?!) at the end of the month! Time really does fly!! He has found his tongue, knows how to do raspberries now and just loves 100% attention!

The clock just struck 8am and I need to go and finish a few last minute things before the movers show up at the door! Will write more later...sorry for no pictures!

Wish us luck today!!
