Happy Soggy Halloween!

Pop Pop, MeMom, Grandmom, and Granddad came over tonight and joined us for supper before the trick-or-treating began! Aunt Melanie and her friend Laura randomly showed up right before the kiddos headed out, a nice surprise!

We got all the kiddos all dressed up and Daddy and Pop Pop took them out... big bummer... lots of rain... heavy rain! The kiddos got to some houses, but not the entire neighborhood... what stinky wet weather! When they got home, Daddy, Pop Pop, Morgan and RJ were drenched from head to toe! Daddy and Pop Pop were good sports! Morgan had a blast even with the rain!! She was really 'into' Halloween this year!!

Hope everyone had a great Halloween!

Weekend in Maryland

We had a great weekend! The kids and I drove down on Friday night... of course hit lots of traffic and an accident back-up, but we finally made it down and then the kids ended up staying up until after 11pm... late night, but they were so full of energy!

Saturday we just laid around the house... it was dark, dreary, and threatening rain at any time so we decided to play it safe and stay inside. Uncle Bobby, Auntie Nikki, and Felicity came over to visit for a little while! Morgan loves Felicity and RJ was very intrigued by Felicity's face. He was trying to touch her face constantly! Poor Felicity doesn't crawl yet so she was stuck with being touched and poked and prodded by RJ and Morgan! We headed to church Saturday night and the kids were fairly well behaved! Thank goodness!

Sunday we got up, ate a yummy breakfast (Thanks Uncle Andy!) and headed to a pumpkin patch to pick some pumpkins and take a hayride. RJ was a little grouchy and Morgan wanted to walk to the farthest patch, but all in all it was a nice time! The hayride was a hit for both kiddos and I think us adults liked it too! There were fairy tale characters along the route of the hayride... pretty neat!

Time already to head home! These weekends go way to fast! What a fun weekend down in Maryland... just wish it lasted longer!

Update

Update to the ladybugs! There was actually a story on the news about the red beetle! Apparently ladybugs are attracted to bright colors so the fall season and the changing leaves bring more ladybugs out. Also with how much moisture we have gotten the last couple weeks it is increasing their numbers even more because they have not hibernated yet... or have come out of hibernation. The exterminator they interviewed said that the ladybugs are trying to find a nice warm place to hibernate for the winter. Inside people's homes is the perfect location!

Sooo.... I don't know much about the ladybug gestational life... but I know lots of ladybugs got into our house... I'm just hoping none are pregnant or we may have an infestation INSIDE our house and need to call that exterminator!

Maybe if I started saying that rhyme... "Lady bug, lady bug fly away home, your house is on fire, your kids are all gone, all except one, and that's little Ann, she crawled under the frying pan..."

TIME WILL TELL!

Infested!!!

We are infested with LADY BUGS!!!!!! They are on all four sides of my house... at the back door, on the garage doors, on the front door, the back door.... yickes!! I guess I would rather lady bugs than... bees... mosquitoes, wasps... Any suggestions for what ladybugs mean? Good luck? That would be nice!!

Yucky weekend blues...

This weekend turned out to be a big bummer here in the Lee household! Daddy had off this weekend so we were going to head to the pumpkin patch on Sat and then attend the Q-town Halloween parade (that Daddy was working at) on Sunday... everything got washed out! Big disappointment for me more than anyone else... anyone who knows me knows that I thrive on ritual/tradition so when we couldn't do the patch I was so upset! I know it is just a little bump, but still... I was sad! (Hopefully going to do it next weekend with A Meggie and U Andy, but the long forecast says rain I think...) Bob and I did go out Sat night for our anniversary supper to Peddler's Village. We went to the Cock-n-Bull for a murder mystery supper. It was the Addams Family theme. It was fun... I guessed both 'who-dun-it's' and Bob didn't get either fully correct... hmmm... The best present was when we got home Aunt Melanie (who watched the kiddos for us) had folded all the kids laundry that was in the dryer! What a great surprise...thank you, thank you, thank you Aunt Melanie!! Thank you also for taking care of the kiddos! So... since we were stuck inside all weekend, RJ decided to reorganize our kids food cupboard. He's only ten dollars an hour, any takers? Hope everyone had a nice weekend! Back to the crazy of the work week!

What looks good?

RJ had a another rough day today. The sitter said that he cried all morning and wouldn't eat anything. He finally took a long nap and was happy for an hour after he woke up before I got there to take them home. It really breaks my heart! I don't know what else to do! I thought maybe it was familiararity with the sitter, but he had a 'better' day on Wed than he did today, shouldn't today have been easier? URGH... any suggestions would really help! It breaks my heart, because I feel so helpless and can't 'fix' his problem! I guess it will be the first of many that he has to work out on his own! (I wish I could be with him all day, I loved being at home with the kiddos!)

Crockpot Meal

Crockpot Bone-in Ham
I made a great meal today for supper and it was super easy!! I bought a bone in ham and stuck it in the crockpot around 7am before leaving for work. After I stuck it in flat side down I rubbed the outside with brown sugar and poured some maple syrup and pineapple juice in the pot. Cooked on low all day and when I cam home and took it out it literally fell apart (almost like pulled pork). Bob even said it was moist... and he often says crockpot meals are dry! It was great, Bob and I enjoyed it and even RJ and MORGAN ate a ton! The good thing... there was still enough left over for leftovers! Morgan's comment was "Yum yum!"
"I'm all done Momma!"

Happy Anniversary

to me! Happy anniversary to Bob and I! 7 years! Wow... climbing the ladder... I remember when we were going to weddings and we had to sit when the DJ said if you have been married less than one year... then I remember when they got to five years we would have to sit... now we get to dance until they say less than ten years! (Kind of makes me feel old?!)

We didn't do anything exciting tonight... we are going to go out to supper this coming weekend. RJ is still having some trouble with his (n0) teeth, so for supper after trying to feed him the meal Bob made we gave up and let him have ice cream for supper! It made him happy and happy for the rest of the night! After Morgan ate her supper she joined RJ in digging into the ice cream. Bob and I shared an 'adult' drink instead of having ice cream!

Happy day for all! Happy anniversary Bob, I love you!

Did I mention the PHILLIES WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! in another tight game!
