Student of the month!

So proud of my boy! He earned Student of the Month for December his freshman year at the high school! His English teacher, Mrs. Stover, nominated him. Way to go buddy! Lots of different angles of you up front!

Mr. Van't Hoenderdaal (Head high school principal), Mr. Thompson (RJ's middle school principal), and Mr. Magditch (one of the high school house principals)

Such a nice write up!

Snow Day!!

Welp, a snow day is no longer a snow day... for Mom at least! I have a virtual day - but I'm so happy with it! I get to sit at home and work on paperwork all day! Wahoo!! I LOVE the snow. I would love to play in the snow, but the kids don't want to, boo hiss. They had to shovel though because they had an actual SNOW day so I (literally) forced them to go out and shovel!

Good job kids! Clean that driveway so Dad can get back home!

Yes, stand together and smile please!

Mom got the fixings for hot chocolate ready for the chilly kiddos!

Morgan offered to give me a make-over. Yes please - just to get to spend time together!

District Band!!

I am beyond words excited for Morgan! She made Districts this year! She practiced hard for tryouts but was for sure that she didn't make it because she (once again) choked at the audition. I stated that if she didn't make it then District Band was not meant for her and she would NOT be trying out her senior year. Surprise, she made it!! She was so excited and it made me so happy for her!

At districts she was blessed to have 2 other clarinet players from school with her! She also moved up 4 spots after he districts audition (towards regional band). She did not move up enough to go onto the next level, but another audition was good for her!

Part of the group...

Second part of the group!

Time for pictures!

Lock In - Music Department Style!

Lock-In for the music program happened last night (this morning, lol). Boy... am I tired! Got there around 7pm last night to get the place ready. Here we go! Kids had the option to play basketball, volleyball, gaga ball, play video games, create art, watch movies, sing karaoke, solve an escape room, and so much more! We had a pizza party at midnight, followed by a magician's illusion show at 1am. Around 3am we had organized games in the big gym and the adults then patiently awaited 6am when the fun concluded. Overall, no one was injured, no one begged to go home early, and it appeared from the adult's point of view that all the kids had a blast! It warms my heart that both my kiddos, Morgan AND RJ had an amazing time! Here's to next year!

Kids got home and crashed! I am trying to stay awake for the rest of the day... cleaning and laundry, here I come - after a cup (or 2 or 3) of coffee!
