Trick or Treat

Happy Halloween!  This year felt so incredibly different.  My parents were away in Europe which was a bummer but it was so sad not to have Mom Lee with us.  She would have brought several more bags of candy with her... even though we would have told her we had plenty... and she would have been snapping away on her camera to show all her girlfriends and whoever else would look the next day!  This Halloween's for you Grandmom!

Extracting Honey

What a procedure!  It is done!

First... super exciting that we actually got enough honey to extract some this year!!  Bob's dream come true!!  Bob decided we didn't have enough though to rent a real extractor... so... we did it by hand.  What a sticky, long, multi-person task!!  It is done, we got lots of honey and already have people who want to buy some!  Feels good that people actually want the honey we helped the bees procure!
Look at all that honey...
this frame weighed at least 5 or 6 pounds... full!!

Step 1... we hair dried the frame to melt the wax and allow the honey to come to the surface
Step 2... scraping down the honey off the frame into a big sanitized tub.
Step 3... repeat, repeat, repeat!!

Step 4... we had to strain out the wax... way to sticky a mess for Bob or I to take pictures of that step
Step 5... all hands on board, no pictures to be taken... boo... funneling wax into each of our bottles with our logo!  Wahoo!
Step 6... tada!

YUMMY!

I don't love honey, but I took a few 'honey shots' straight into the mouth from our personal bottle and it was super sweet!!  Pretty neat this product was created literally in our own backyard... lots of tender loving care was put into the bees... so thank you bees for returning the favor...

Pumpkin Carving

Daddy enjoys carving the pumpkins with the kiddos! It is not my thing so I take the pictures.  They turned out cool though!  Morgan actually did 99% of hers herself without Daddy's (attempting) help!

Pfaff Race for Education

Today was Pfaff's Race for Education.  It seems crazy that this is Morgan's last one!  The time sure does fly by!  It was bitter sweet this year... Grandmom always used to come and cheer on the kiddos.  No Grandmom this year... which meant also no shoe from Grandmom to support the kiddos.  Granddad didn't return the shoe nor did he show up to cheer the kiddos on.  They shared they were both a little sad.  I understand how they felt... but we cannot control others actions!  MeMom and Pop Pop were away so they were unable to come either.  BUT... I think Morgan and RJ still did their best and had a great time!  Out to supper to celebrate!

Psychic Reading

Tonight we went and heard a psychic read.  Bob heard about the lady coming to the local old fashion, one room movie theater in the next town over.  There were about 150-ish people there.  She seemed like she knew what she was talking.  She shared her personal story and then called numbers randomly to have a quick reading done.  Unfortunately we were not called, but it was neat to see her in action!

Halloween Parade

Always fun to watch the Quakertown Halloween Parade.  Trying to find people we know as they walk by is my highlight... getting as much (gross, generic, not the good kind) candy as possible is the kiddos highlight!
