Perfect.

I hate to wish away my life... but I so enjoy and live for summer with my kiddos.  I recently re-saw this quote and it just is so true!  Summer has come to an end...

"The days are long, but the years are short!"

RJ's first day without!

I was so lucky to be able to stay home with RJ one last day (on Monday when Morgan went to school) before school began for me today.  We had so much fun together... soaking up the last day of summer together!  He had a blast blowing bubbles, playing outside, riding bikes, playing trains, and just spending time together.  I devoted my attention all to my little man.  He never really gets just him and I time so Monday was very nice for both of us.  (Although I might be a little trained-out now! hehe)  I think Monday got me through today!  Awesome thoughts of my happy kiddos makes for an easier day!

After the first...day of KINDERGARTEN!

Of course after school the weather was just beautiful!
We got the 'before' school pictures after school...
hey, whatever... it is the memories that count!

I LOVE the big hugs that are exchanged between Morgan and RJ!

Morgan was so excited to go to school.  She couldn't wait to go on the school bus!  She has been counting down the days until she could ride the bus!  She was disappointed she couldn't walk up to the bus stop but I told here there would be plenty of other days!  (We walked home!!)

She got up this morning with no problems... she had a huge smile on her face.  She went through the morning routine by getting dressed, making her bed, teeth, breakfast, help pick what she wanted for lunch, getting hair brushed and put into pig tails, then off we went!  We patiently waited for the bus in our car while it rained.  We made a quick call to Aunt Meggie and to Pop Pop to pass the exciting time!!

then... the BUS!!  To Morgan I think the bus was clad in gold and shining and sparkling through the pouring rain!!  I tried to snap some photos as Daddy walked her to the bus.  I was happy to see the bus coming south on Allentown road so that she didn't have to cross traffic.  That made me feel better about getting on the bus on the busy road.  It appeared Morgan was the first one on the bus this morning.  (Quakertown Christian is the only school going this week)  Next week she will have a few neighborhood kiddos with her that go to Catholic school and one other private school.

It was so fast!  She jumped out of the car, ran to the bus, climbed on, sat down, and off they went!  There was no time for me to even think!!  I think I got sad when I drove back to the house without her.  Sappy Momma, I know... but I just CAN.NOT.BELIEVE she is a kindergartner!!!!!

When she got home she was so happy with a smile ear to ear!  She loved school!  She had a lot of fun!  She told me bits and pieces about her day.  She told me she couldn't eat everything in her lunch because there wasn't enough time.  (Yup... my slow eater plus talking with friends = not finishing all your food)  Aunt Meggie and Aunt Melanie called to see how Morgan's first day went.  Go Aunts!!  Pop Pop came over later for supper and Morgan shared some of her day with him.  MeMom called after supper but Morgan was already outside playing with the neighborhood kiddos...

Overall, I think Morgan had a fabulous day!!  She loved school!  She has friends already in her class!  She loves her teacher so far!!  She loved the bus ride!!  She had Library and Art at school and loved both of those!  We are off to an amazing start!  I am so excited!  I love my baby girl so much and now she is a school age kiddo!  Wow!  Here's to another great 12 first days of school throughout the rest of your years!!

First day....of KINDERGARTEN!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am too sad to really write anything... not crying, just sad!  Check out her pictures... on a POURING rain morning!  Even the rain couldn't keep her from smiling and being excited!!

Off she goes!

I followed her to her classroom...

She immediately got a book, sat down, and her friends came over to listen to her read the book!  (She knows how to use her finger to follow along the words and knows some 'sight words' but doesn't YET know how to fully read...  But they didn't know that!  (And the parents were so surprised that she knew how to read... I told them the truth although it would have been nice to let them think she was a genius...hehehe)

Here's to a good year at Quakertown Christian School!

GO PHILLIES!!!

Today was an awesome day!!  Phillies + kiddos = perfect!  (We did miss Daddy, but he had to work.)

Morgan, RJ, and I went to the Phillies game together!!  Just the kiddos and I (and lots of fingers crossed that everything from traffic to behavior went smoothly)!!  We left home around 11am and had smooth sailing down to the park.  I don't like the craziness of trying to park, but we made it got to our spot and walked up to the stadium.  The lady who scanned our tickets made it very clear that RJ needed a ticket... only 2 and under get in for free.  Oh... sorry!  She gave me a bit of attitude, but did let us all in.  (Whew!)  We started out in the Phun Zone!  There was no wait to get in and the kiddos spent almost an hour running around and playing.  My plan = let kiddos run around and make them tired!  Hehehe.  They were definitely hot and sweaty when they were finished (oh... and oh so hungry!)

After playing we got in line to get their faces painted.  The actual service was free but of course I tipped the gal.  We went and got RJ his first game certificate and then headed to our seats.

On the way to our seats we grabbed a soft pretzel for each of them.  Overall they both did amazingly well!!  So much better than I thought RJ would do!  Of course Morgan did fantastic too!  They ate: almost all of (their own) soft pretzels, almost a whole bottle of orange soda (each), chocolate chip cookies, twizzlers, ring pops, peppermint patties, combos... and I might have missed something...  In the 8th inning I finally gave in and bought them a water ice to share.  They each had maybe 5 bites and were both full.   Hmmm... I wonder why?!  Our way home really wasn't horrible either... it only took maybe 10 minutes more than usual to get home!  What a wonderful and fun way to spend our last day of summer all together!  Oh... ps... Phillies WON and Cliff Lee finally got a home win!  Yea!!!

WOW! End of Summer!

I can NOT believe I am sitting here the weekend before real school starts for Morgan (on Monday!!) and my inservice days start Tuesday.  RJ gets lucky and doesn't start school until after labor day (although he is upset about that fact!)

We had a fantastic summer!  We did so many fun activities, visited many different places, took short trips, and stayed at home and played together inside and outside... outside most of the time!  Where did the summer go?  The summer passed by with giggles, and smiles, dirty hands and feet, scraped knees and elbows, late nights, and mornings cuddling in bed.  Lots of bike riding, swing swinging, gardening, drawing with chalk, bubbles, grass cutting, swimming, flower/tree planting and so much more!  What a wonderful summer we had with our blessed family!

Although I hate to wish my life away... I live for summer!  Summer is the time I get uninterrupted time with my precious babies...that are literally growing up before my face!  I can't believe... I am really astounded that Morgan starts kindergarten this year.  Oh my goodness... kindergarten!!!  I feel very emotional about this!  She is almost 6 and starting 'real' school.  Wow!

RJ's speech is starting to come along!  People are FINALLY starting to understand him better.  Being home all summer with him I was really able to correct him (OFTEN) and work on sound productions.  I just hope he continues to climb with his intelligibility!  He and Morgan really enjoyed playing together throughout the summer.  Morgan's love for RJ just radiates off of her!

RJ's favorite sayings for the summer, "Ha,ha" and "I tooooold you!"

We are truly soaking up every last minute!
May every summer be this fun and full of wonderful family time that can never be replaced!!
