Hot and Humid and Soccer

Today was hot even this morning at soccer!  The humidity it what is the killer!  Both teams only had five members show up... so instead of rotating and playing 4 at a time all five played the entire time... kind-of.  The green team had all it's members play the entire time.... Morgan's team on the other hand had a few troubles... one girl said she was too hot (after warm ups) and sat on the sidelines crying the entire time, and another little boy (whom I feel might be autistic) after wandering around the field (away from action) with his Dad hollering at him to play and run and kick the ball he walked up to a member on the other time and with all his might shoved her down... his Dad scooped him up and they left.  So... essentially it was 3 playing 5.  So... the final score was 5-3... not so bad when it was a constant 'power play' the entire game.  Morgan did great and is getting better at 'getting' in there to hit the ball!  Go kiddo!!

Poor RJ tried to play with a bigger kid... and got a kick in the eye... He came over crying but at the time I didn't see anything (and I figured it was just an accident)... but he does have a black and blue bruise above his eye... oh well... it will heal!

After naps the neighbor invited the kiddos over to enjoy some fun on a rented water slide moonbounce.  He told me to just send them over and he would send them home later... I made sure it was ok because they had family over to visit also.  He said seriously, leave them!  Ok!!  Well... they were there from after nap time until 9:30pm!  They played, ate, and I guess had a blast!  (I found out later it was our man-neighbor's birthday so they got the moon bounce to celebrate his birthday I guess!)

Couple pictures from the fun when I was checking on them!

Hot day = sprinkler fun!

The kiddos went into the sprinkler today!  They had a blast!  Goda came down and joined them.  Now we have a big mud puddle, some wet and happy kiddos, and a chilled out Momma (drinking a cold soda and reading a book on the porch!).

Homemaker?

Morgan told me she really, REALLY wanted different curtains... so I attempted the insane task of curtains, and hey if I was making her curtains why not make curtains for the guest room and the master bedroom too, right?  The dining room AKA the sewing room became a nightmare with thread and material everywhere!  But you can see... the finished product!  Go me!!

Pretty proud of myself if I do say so myself!

Yum... home made soda!

The kiddos and I are having a blast making soda with our Soda Stream.  Have to admit... Megan gave it to me almost a year ago and I finally opened it... NOW I think I might be addicted!!  I am drinking way too much soda (diet, but still)!!  One good thing... the soda mixes do not have high fructose corn syrup which seems to be in everything, from jelly to applesauce to barbeque sauce!  Blah!  Why add more sugar product to already yummy foods?  Enjoying us some yummy soda!!  (Note...all colored caps to the mixes are NOT diet, all gray caps ARE diet.  It is easier to determine which flavors are which when in a hurry at the store!)

Thomas...oh and a buggy

I know that at this point I am backtracking... but I didn't want to rush over our last day in Lancaster because it was a day full of absolute fun!!!

This first shot is how we slept in the hotel room.  Morgan has been counting down the days to when she could sleep with me (since we don't let that occur at home) and RJ was to sleep with Daddy...  well... that didn't work.  As we were getting ready for bed (too late at night) RJ started fussing and raising his little voice that he wanted to sleep with Momma not Daddy.  Morgan wasn't going to have any of that!!!  So here we slept... the three of us in one bed... Daddy getting the other bed to himself! Lots of pillows put on the floor next to each side of the bed, just in case of a faller...
We didn't really sleep this peacefully all night... Morgan fell out of bed three times... the third time sleeping on the floor for an hour or so (I think) before climbing back into bed...  RJ fell out of bed at least three times too... don't let me leave out that the two of them move like crazy while sleeping (I know, I know, they get that from me) but I had arms, hair, hands, behinds, legs, AND feet in my face at some point throughout the night... and let's also not forget to mention at one point RJ was sleeping on top of me!  I tried to enjoy it because I know they won't love me like this forever, but it wasn't a very restful sleep for me!  Nothing a cup of coffee couldn't fix in the morning.  I love those two snuggle bugs!!

Donuts in bed... what could get better than that?
(AND it isn't our bed... even better!!)

Time to see THOMAS!!!

After a train ride driven by Thomas we went and got some photo opportunities!  RJ was in heaven!  He was so excited to see everything!!

Lego-made Thomas!  Cool!
A story about Thomas

There's Thomas again!!  He is a hard working train!!

Look at ALL the train tables... RJ will never want to leave!!!

Our day visiting Thomas was awesome!!  There were lots of different activities that were 'free' after getting the train ticket.  RJ had so much fun being surrounded by trains everywhere!  We bought him a new Thomas puzzle and a cute Thomas hat.  RJ was so excited to see everything and he was so well behaved!  He was so infatuated... it was so hard when it was time to go!  Seeing the joy on his face made it hard to leave and move onto our next activity... but overall he did not throw a huge tantrum, just a small little fuss and off we went to our next event!

Buggy ride... we took a three mile buggy ride around the farms in the country.  Morgan was the special one and got to sit up front next to David, or driver.  The kiddos seemed to enjoy the ride...  I just wish that the driver would have spoken more and shared some information about the Amish population... but he remained quiet unless we asked him questions...

After the buggy ride Daddy and I did a quick bit of shopping at the outlets before heading to supper.  It was pretty neat... the restaurant we went to had a Noah's Arc buffet for the kiddos.  They enjoyed the kiddo food and did well at supper.

We finished up supper and headed home... after two exhausting days without naps this was the view in the back seat...  I love it!!

I can't believe our Dutch Wonderland/Thomas/Outlets/Hotel/Buggy Ride Stay is over!!  It was a whirlwind of fun mixed in with a lot of quality family time!  Love it!!  So much fun... a bit expensive... but SO worth it to see the joy in my children's faces!!
