Finally!!! I can stop hiding things and lying to everyone!!
I was really hoping this could be pulled off! It was a success and Daddy/Bob was totally surprised! The kiddos were playing in the driveway and as soon as he got there 'pulled' him towards the swing set telling him they had to show him something... SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!!
I sent out invitations about a month ago and the planning began!! Soooo many people said yes! I thought I would be hosting a 25-30 person party. It turns out over 60 people (adults and kiddos) came! Bob is definitely loved!!!!
Throughout the last few weeks I bought many things to have for the party... I bought a bean bag toss (hid in the basement), horseshoes (he saw, but said I wanted them!), a new canopy (hid in the basement), major amounts of alcohol (hid in by plastic buckets that should hold the kiddos clothes), and three days before the party all the food was put into the downstairs basement fridge! Bob NEVER goes into the basement fridge... so I kept my fingers crossed he wouldn't check it for a couple more days! Anytime he said, "Do you know if we have..." I jumped up and said I would check!
My neighbors Jeff and Julie allowed me to use some fridge space at their home the night before to get some more alcohol cold! Jeff was AMAZING and I don't think he knows how grateful I am for his help the day off!! He helped put up all the canopies, and put out all the lawn games. I was inside trying to get all the food out and ready. Thank you soooo much Jeff!!!
Onto the day... Bob did not leave until a few minutes after 3!!! People started showing up around 3:45! Talk about not much time to throw everything together!! Did the best I could and I got everything out... even if some people had already shown up before EVERYTHING was ready!
Bob and everyone else (I hope!) had a great time! I am sad I missed it... but all the kiddos had a blast throwing water balloons at the birthday boy the entire afternoon! He was still soaked when he took his clothes off! (Good thing he had consumed a lot of alcohol so the wet wasn't bothering him!) At one point he actually turned off the hose water connection. That didn't really stop the kiddos as then they came inside and used the bathroom sink...
A great day and night! We all love you Daddy/Bob/Bob-a-Boey!!
