Chilly outdoor play!

Sometimes the kiddos need a push or a shove... after taking away their electronics Morgan and RJ bundled up and headed outside to play some basketball.  A couple neighbors joined them and they got their vitamin D for a while this afternoon!

Irish Potatoes!

Time to make Irish Potatoes for St. Patrick's Day!  Mix, mix, mix!

And... just have to point out...somehow they wore matching sweatshirts today!

Old things - keep or toss?

So when I showed MeMom and Aunt Daisy this they shared that the tea set must have been my Nana’s to play with when she was a child because the writing was their Nana’s, my Great Nana’s.

Neat to find but I don’t really want to keep them so not sure what to do...

Also found this sticker book - what a blast from the past! No cell phones to consume my time so why not have a sticker book to add a bazillion stickers to! Definitely a young child of the 80s!

Whew! The cleaners must have tripped the circuit yesterday while cleaning and we didn’t realize it... until we woke up kinda chilly this morning!

Ballet hike plus some!

This trail is amazing!  

I am so glad I was able to find this area to hike while Morgan is at her ballet lesson!

After my walk at lunch, my hike at ballet, and my walk this evening... I logged 8.5 miles today!  Wow!

 

Indoor Soccer

I feel warm inside when I see RJ playing soccer, having a change to kick the ball and peers pass to him.  This indoor soccer session was a good change of pace for him and I!

The boy is getting better! Slowly but surely he is learning the longboard and getting more comfortable with going faster! Keep it up buddy!

Breakfast

So - Daddy and I have started doing a morning breakfast date before grocery shopping together.  Wahoo - such an exciting Sunday morning... but at least we get some time together!  This was my breakfast in the front and his towards the back this week.  We have been going to different Ma-Pa shops around town.  This one had the best presentation, but wasn't my favorite in taste!

Bob's favorite thing to do now is get to Aldi with his running shoes on!  

His goal (I think) is to be the first one in line just one time! LOL

Family Game night

Family game night!  Oh boy! I found a game (Worst Case Scenario) in the basement while cleaning that was Bob's favorite soon after we got married.  He was determined to play it as a family tonight.  The amount of fussing and arguing between the children drove me crazy!  I don't want to be on your team - no, you rolled a 1, no, you can't roll again, that's not fair, I don't like this game, no, that doesn't count.... and the complaints kept going... yiyiyi...my face probably says it all!

Workout space transformation

Working on creating a better usable workout space since Daddy keeps adding things to Momma's space!  Slowly but surely it is coming together!  We first got rid of some shelving, donated a bunch of stuff, and moved things around to make our space bigger. Somehow Daddy is trying to take over with his bench and weight bar...

 

Wait, what - snow?

Waking up to see snow covering my car was a big surprise! That was not for asked - but hey - expect the unexpected everyday, all day!

I'm still busy working around the house... you know, the normal Saturday chores... clean the kitchen, do the wash, pick up 'stuff' all over the floors, etc... and I look over to see this!  These men, lol!
 

Drone - stuck - hmmm

So... RJ and his buddy got his drone stuck in a tree.  How long and how many ideas/tries will it take to get the drone out of the tree?

Try 1 - shake tree - fail

Try 2 - climb tree - fail

Try 3 - throw soccer ball at tree 50+ times - finally SCORE!

February affirmations!

Every year I put up a positive quality or affirmation on a heart for each kiddo for every day of February.  I think it's a great way to boost Morgan and RJ's spirits and to make them realize how many positive things they have going for themselves!  it is easy to overlook the good qualities on a day to day basis and this type of activity makes both me and them stop and think about life!

 As RJ was eating his waffles and mounds of whip cream he was not paying attention (what a shocker!) and he spilled whip cream all over himself.  I could have gotten angry, but instead I took a picture and laughed.  Whatever kid.

Indoor Soccer - different coaches!

To keep RJ sharp and practicing his soccer skills we signed him up for an indoor soccer league.  He seemed to enjoy himself - with one practice a week and games every Sunday.  He did a much better job attacking the ball and scoring goals!  Way to go buddy!
