Longest drive EVER

Today we left for our first weekend at MeMom and Pop Pop's beach house!  We got out of the house around 3:30pm - here we go!

Not even 10 minutes into our ride we hit traffic!  SLOW traffic... stop and go traffic... not a good sign to start our trip!

We saw not only ONE, but TWO different rainbows as we drove in the continuing SLOW traffic

THEN... on top of slow traffic - INSANE rain began!

7:25pm we rolled into the beach house... still in the pouring rain!  Ugh!  At least we made it safe and sound, but holy moly, the longest drive ever!!

Surprise supper

 Today a package was delivered... I wondered what it was... of course RJ wanted to open it!

Thank you Mrs. K, Momma's roomie at school for a quick - no prep needed supper!  So thoughtful!

Pups - naughty

I ran upstairs to help Morgan and get her the clarinet mask she forgot at home for MeMom and Pop Pop to pick up.  I come down to this... ugh!  Were they being spiteful?!  Seriously dogs - I was only upstairs for a few minutes. I had to carefully get onto the floor and clean it up the best I could.  Times like these I wonder why we have dogs!  Ugh.

Lazy Memorial Day

So... early morning for Morgan - her first Memorial Day Parade with the marching band! It sounded like she had a great time! I was unable to go due to my surgery but Daddy and RJ went and watched and listened! 

Then, a little cornhole in the driveway before just chillin’ and having a picnic supper!

So... while Momma was in the hospital just recovering from her day's surgery with Daddy by her side MeMom and Pop Pop took Morgan and RJ out to supper.  Lucky them - their food looks yummy! 

Morgan’s Last Ballet Recital - EVER!

And... just like that Morgan is done her ballet career.  Today was her final recital as she has shared on many occasions she no longer has a passion for dance.  No matter who tells her she is really good - she does not want to hear it and she says she is done with dance.  Her last recital was a spin off of the Nutcracker as they weren't able to do the Christmas show.  Morgan looked great and she did an amazing job like always!  She was blessed to have both her Aunts and girl cousins, and grandparents come to watch her!

One way to work!

When Morgan is at a long ballet recital rehearsal what does Momma do?  She takes a nice long hike - almost 5 miles - then had a picnic of school work for the last hour or two!

Nail Problems

Morgan is starting to attempt her nails... she is putting a ton of layers on and then finding out they peel right off!  Poor kiddo!  Practice makes perfect!

New do & Less teeth

 A day off for voting?  Sure we will use it for important business!  First up, hair cut for the Bubba-Boo

Next, poor boy... got 4 grown up teeth (I THINK his 6 year old molars) pulled out.  Long story short, the doctor that RJ and Daddy met with originally fell down his steps - so RJ had a different doctor - he was a jokester - gave RJ the 'giggle juice' that RJ really DID NOT want but is always compliant around others so he drank it.  He got loopy and I stayed with him as the mediation took it's place - about 20 minutes - then went to the waiting room - no joke - less than 10 minutes later the doctor said he was done and all went well!  Holy cow!  RJ needed help walking out... I gave him a bucket on the couch, but luckily he did not get sick and had an appetite for sherbet come supper time!

RJ is sure hoping the tooth fairy comes!

(Side note...added later... he got a $20 dollar bill for those big teeth!  Made the boy very excited!)

Silly boy

I love seeing my boy in a great mood and being silly!  A mess all over his face while he eats and 100% happy!

Willow’s new fav

 Toys bought for Duke's birthday - but Willow has adopted this crinkly and squeaky toy for herself!

Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother's Day! I did not do a great job of taking pictures today!  We worked in the garden a bit and then Morgan made me by favorite meal and dessert!  Meatloaf and cinnamon sugar soft pretzels!  Yum!!

Daddy got me a pretty heart necklace from Pandora. I would have liked something handmade by my kiddos, but beggars can't be choosers!

Only in the Country

Only in the country we use a tree branch to fix a sign!

We enjoyed a fire on the deck tonight.  I worry about sparks but Bob says there is nothing to worry about... 

Morgan joined us while making rings, her new past time.

Garden Prepped

Garden is prepped! Lots of weeding completed and new mushroom mulch/dirt put into the boxes. I don't like the dirt, but fingers crossed after it settles for a week or two it will work well for my plants!  

Also... working on getting the  poles and netting up over the blueberries so we can actually eat some this year and keep the birdies away!!

Pop-It's are the 'new' popular fidget which I'm sure will be in style for what - a month?
