Mountain House

We celebrated Felicity's first birthday at MeMom and Pop Pop's house on Saturday. Happy birthday sweet niece!

After enjoying a big birthday bash we headed up to Dave and Chantal's mountain house. Morgan was excited to see her friends! She played very nicely with Jocelyn and Lydia.

On Sunday morning Daddy went snowmobiling. Chantal, the kids and I stayed home and played. RJ took a short nap. When Daddy came home he brought me a dozen roses (1/2 yellow, and 1/2 peach). What a nice gesture on Valentine's Day! We took the kids outside for a walk. It wasn't that cold until the wind started blowing! Brrr! We went to a place called the Jonas Hotel for our V-day supper. We all enjoyed out meals, and the kids did pretty well. (Side note: two separate ladies came up to me and said how well our kids were behaving during supper). Got home and ate some dessert. Kids went to bed and us adults watched a little bit of the Olympics before we were all ready to crash with full bellies!

Woke up this morning, packed up and it was time to head home. We stopped at a diner for breakfast. We didn't have a relaxed breakfast! The kids were hyper, and fussing, and the food wasn't so good. Make a note to self, do not go back to that Diner again!

We took both kiddos to RJ's swim class. Morgan had a blast. RJ was off and on happy. I think he was lacking sleep and his belly might have been hungry! After swim class we picked up some yummy pizza, and made a big yummy mess at home! I got the kids to bed then prepped for my first day back to school tomorrow. I am soon off to bed!

Snow Clean - up!

Today we went back outside to finish shoveling and snow blowing the sidewalks and driveway. The wind drifts made it a bit ugly out there! Morgan just loves the snow! She can't seem to get enough of playing in it, digging in it, and eating it! She always comes in with rosy cheeks and cold hands! We throw everything in the dryer and a couple hours later she is ready to go at it again!

After RJ woke up from his nap today (p.s. today is the second day in a row Morgan refused to nap and just read books and sang to her animals) Daddy took the kids outside on a sled ride. He struggled a little bit, maybe because the snow was just too deep for a sled, but he tried and the kids held on for dear life!

Daddy loves his snow blower... thanks Granddad for letting us have it!! Men and their toys annoy me a bit, but hey, it was less shoveling for me!

Starting the sled ride...

On the sled and on their way!

Starting to fall...

Really falling off... HELP DADDY!

Daddy, we fell off!
I got RJ, he's ok!!

Sleeping Angel

RJ has been having a rough couple months! Back right before Christmas he got a double ear infection... then the end of January he got another ear infection! He has been teething with lots of drool since before Christmas too! He has had a cold off and on for the last two months too! This morning he woke up with a completely swollen shut right eye! There was no goo or crusty residue, it was just swollen shut and no matter how hard he tried he could not get that eye to open! Poor kiddo! I took the kiddos to MeMom's and she said that she thought I should really take him to the doctor. Urgh... yet another day off of school. I ended up taking a half day and MeMom took the kiddos swimming in the AM. I met them at the gym to help MeMom get everyone undressed and back into 'street' clothes. I scooped RJ up and took him to the doctor AGAIN. Got to see the doctor and the verdict? The doctor guessed it was a bug bite! A little old bug bite! Hmmm... we were at a Superbowl Party the night before, bugs? In the middle of winter? Crazy!! The doctor explained that because the swelling was going down a little as the day continued it wasn't some big term that I forget... but anyway... if it was a treatable issue then his eye would have been getting worse... Sorry RJ... you just got a bug bite, no meds for that!

I brought him back to MeMom's waited a couple hours and then left my babies again to head to graduate class (to make up a class we missed). Today is going to be a long day... I just pray that we get out earlier rather than later tonight!!

We had lots of fun in the snow! I finally got a picture with my kiddos! I feel like I always take the pictures and never get in them... so I did the long arm stretch and got a few pictures of Morgan with me, and RJ with me! Fun!! I think I love the snow as much as I did when I was a kid! Bring the snow on!!

Marshmallows!

Sledding with the neighbor girls Morgan is in the middle

RJ was just content sitting in the snow without moving

Daddy snow blowing!

We had lots of fun out in the snow today! Although we didn't get as much as other places (i.e. Aunt Meggie/Uncle Andy's and Uncle Bobby/Auntie Nikki's) we still had lots of fun!

Officially marshmallows... all of us! We got out in our snow today! About 10 inches I think, give or take. I was hoping for more, but I'll be happy with what we got! Morgan had a great time in the snow! She took some sled rides with the neighbor girls, played in the snow and made 'snow castles' with her sand castle tools, shoveled a bit and played with the dogs! She was out twice today! Daddy was out using his snow blower! I was out taking some pictures (of course), shoveling out some areas that the snow blower wasn't going to get to, and playing with the kiddos . When RJ came out after lunch and nap (Morgan's second time out) he wasn't so sure about the snow. Every step he tried to take he fell. Those silly snow pants! He was more content to just sit and watch Morgan! He also like being pulled around in his sled! We all lasted for a bit over an hour before RJ "told" us it was time to go in! Morgan wasn't quite ready, but she came somewhat willingly with the promise we would come out again! Each time we came in she wanted to warm up by the campfire (fire place) with a treat cuddled under blankets!

What a fun-filled snowy day! Let's hope we all have long sweet dreams!

p.s. My graduate class was canceled for today and is canceled for tomorrow... great for now, stinks for later because we will have to make it up... urgh... But I'll enjoy the here and now!!

OH NO!

RJ's test run for getting all dressed up for the snow!

RJ can taste the snow already!

So, great start to the soon-to-be snowy weekend - the principle let us leave as soon as all the kids cleared out, about 1/2 hour earlier than usual! Yea! I decided to take the turnpike instead of my usual route because the turnpike would be a little faster to get home and start my weekend!

Wrong direction... go figure. I admit I am horrible with directions, but once I've gone somewhere 100 times I usually don't get lost! Until today. I took the turnpike in the wrong direction today and didn't even realize it until I saw the wrong exit sign. Only a 30 minute detour on my ride home. Bummer!

Since I took my 'detour' I stopped into the Target in Plymouth Meeting to grab some baby food and to see just by any chance there was a sled there. Yes to the baby food, no to the sled. While getting the baby food I witnessed the funniest sight I have seen in a VERY long time!! I was in the baby section getting my food when I saw the funniest sight... Let me set the scene! A mother was talking to a salesperson in the bathing isle. Her three year old-ish little girl was just wandering around the isle looking at things and being a typical three year old. About half way down the isle was a bright red toddler potty. I saw the little girl walking towards the 'sparkling' red potty. Mom was still in deep conversation with the teenage girl sales person. The little girl walked around the potty a time or two then in the middle of that isle pulled down her pants and sat down on that red potty! A few seconds later she called out, "Mommy I pee-peed!" The Mom, still engrossed only a couple feet away looked over and screamed, "Oh my gosh!!" The teenage sales person looked over and gasped! At that moment I felt I had stood there long enough getting into someone elses' business, and walked away laughing to myself as I moved onto the next item I needed. That will be a moment that Mom NEVER forgets, and I guess she will be buying THAT red potty, no need to chat about differences in potties anymore, your little girl picked for you!

Big Foot!

Morgan in Daddy's galoshes, RJ in Momma's galoshes!

It was the cutest watching them try to walk. THEN they both wanted me to help them walk.

So fun to explore what to do with boots!
