Waylen's birthday celebration!

Today we enjoyed a breakfast celebration for Waylen's birthday. It was us and Waylen's mom and grandmom. It was a small gathering but very nice company. Sarah (Waylen's mom) brought a cake and cupcakes and our waitress had the whole dining room sing to Waylen. It was the first time I ever saw him blush, lol. Then Morgan gave him his gift and he got a total hit out of his presents, haha. Some necessities and a couple gag but will be used gifts... pumpkin spice dude wipes and a pair of customized boxers with Morgan's face on them. Can't forget Morgan's handmade card, hehehe.

Senior Photos, seriously?!

How are we here? I can't believe RJ is getting his senior photos. In my head he is still my little bubba... but instead here he is a tall well groomed kid posing for his senior photos. All the feels are hitting. He looked amazing. I'm so proud of him. 

I did not like the experience with the picture company but I tried not to let that hinder these moments with RJ. A special time for RJ. Love him so much!

Schultz Visit

Since I was oblivious... I forgot to take photos... the Schultz family joined the kiddos and me at the pool and stayed there most of the day followed by supper out where MeMom and Pop Pop joined us.

Splash Party - Summer Swim

RJ made it back from his Myrtle Beach trip just in time for the Summer Swim Splash Party! He had a blast with his friends!

Beth and a movie

Well... tonight I was lonely... Bob was working, Morgan was headed to a local carnival then sleepover, and RJ is still away on vacation with a friend. So... I decided to go to a local 'old fashion' movie theater and see the new Moana movie. Not the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last time I go to a movie alone. But, for $5.00 how could I go wrong?

As I was driving home I was having some trouble seeing the road clearly... I was beginning to worry that my night vision was shot... but when I got home I found this... a bulb was out. My headlights are dim to begin with so having one out...yiyi. On a positive note - at least my eyesight is still ok, haha!

Wow - Fires!

This morning when I went for my run around 7am you could see the haze from the Canadian Wild Fires drifting over the sun. It was kinda eerie! The air didn't smell too bad yet. Yesterday the air quality was not great and you could smell the smoke! The weather forecast said the air was supposed to be worse today... and as I was running I get the message that the pool was closed all day due to poor air quality. Never would have thought in a million years the pool would be closed due to air quality - poop in the pool, yes - broken system, yes... but air quality? Ooof. 

Mom has taken to swimming!

So... I have been in a bit of a funk recently so I decided I would go to the pool and swim some laps... well some laps turned into a lot! I started getting into rhythm and it almost felt like meditation! I just counted my strokes and focused on my breathing. It felt amazing!  

So... I did it a second day! 

Adding swim into my workout routine - every other day I will run 3.5 miles or swim and walk

RJ at Myrtle!

RJ got invited to go with a friend to Myrtle Beach for two weeks. That was very generous but I said he could go for a week. He is there now and will come home Saturday - One full week is enough especially since he will return home, work for one week, then has our family vacation for a week followed by two weeks of band camp! I needed him to make a little extra money, lol. This photo is from today, they didn't do too much yesterday when they first got down to South Carolina - long car ride! They left Saturday morning at 3:00AM!

Morgan and Megan! Wahoo!

Morgan decided she needed a pick-me-up so she decided at the last minute that spending over $300 on a Megan Moroney ticket was worth it. A friend wanted to go too so they went to the concert in Philly and had an amazing time! I'm so glad to see her smile!

Senior Night - Summer Swim

Tonight was senior night and RJ's last swim for the summer season. He will be away for champs - lucky duck he is, lol. He did well tonight - but I always think he does well! We had a 45 minute 'intermission' for heard thunder but somehow got the entire meet in. Great job buddy! Only one more season you are forced to swim, haha.
