Tree Pulling = Hard Work!
Ugh. I dislike tree pulling... I didn't like the looks of our half dead trees so when Irene nicely knocked down one tree we figured we could easily yank the other one out of the ground too... WRONG! Almost three hours later of digging, attempting to pull with the 4-wheeler and then attempting to pull with the jeep and digging some more... we FINALLY got the tree roots out, and the metal basket that encased the original bulb of the planted tree. What a PAIN in the neck!
NOW, we can plant nicer trees and ones we will (hopefully) enjoy for the rest of our lives!

Hurricane.
Well... Bob had to work through this hurricane. Pretty impressive... on the 23rd an Earthquake, and now a Hurricane. Wonder what the future holds in store for good ol' Pennsylvania! We thankfully did not have ANY water in the basement! Yea!! We did lose power last night for three hours or so... no big deal, we were all sleeping! Then today... we lost power from about 12 to 5. What to do without electric? How to entertain the kiddos? We colored, played with Playdoh, and played with puzzles amongst other things. Kids also took a nap, and I tried too... but it didn't work so well.
As you can see... we had one casualty in the front yard. We weren't too sad... it put the fire under our rumps to get new trees!! It PROVES that the tree wasn't A. planted very well, and B. probably half dead already!

Phillies Game.
RAINED.OUT.
*Sigh*
With Hurricane Irene heading into the Philadelphia area the Phillies rescheduled their Sunday afternoon game for Saturday afternoon. With Bob working Pop Pop decided to go with me to the game. We went down to Fern Rock and took the subway down to AT&T station and the stadium. We got there around noon, and after waiting a bit over an hour at 1:15 (1:05 start time) the game was cancelled with no rescheduling date announced. Big Bummer! Thanks Pop Pop for traveling down to the game (humoring me) and being a good sport for me!! I am a die-hard and was really hoping for the game to go on... but not happening!
I know I'm a bit selfish... but I want to use those tickets that I bought!!! I got season tickets for a reason and now that I am starting back to school next week I don't think I'll be able to use them! AND we missed them two weeks ago Sunday due to heavy rain too. I am craving my Phillies!

Day After the Beach (a little late to post)
We got home late from the beach on Saturday night. Both kiddos finally fell asleep as we traveled home... the hardest part of vacation!
Aunt Melanie was going to stay over night one more night so Bob and I could go to the Phillies Game on our Sunday home-game date!
Bad news... the game was rained out before we even left. It was yucky outside and the Phillies decided to cancel early instead of having everyone come down to the stadium and then have to head home. I was bummed... but in the long run it was a good idea because it rained and rained and rained!
Instead, we ALL got to hang out for the day with Aunt Melanie! We are all thankful for Aunt Melanie!

Morning Swim
(A post that actually occurred a few days ago)
We took a couple hours and went to swim with Angela and Hannah. The kiddos had a great time. We topped off swim time with a picnic lunch. After swimming we headed home for naps!
We had a great time except for three minutes! We had a quick scary moment that seems to happen to a lot of people (or at least I am telling myself that!). I got the kiddos all lotioned up and out to the pool Morgan and RJ went with Angela and Hannah. As I was starting my lotion I decided I better grab out RJ's bubble before he decided to take a dip in the spa where the girls were headed. No sooner did I look down to find his bubble in my bag than I looked up and he was bobbing up and down in the center of the spa. We all started shouting at the girls, "Grab RJ," "Get RJ". They looked at us and were kind of laughing. They didn't understand that he was unable to swim!! I bolted out to the spa and lifted him out with one big swipe. Although he was a little scared, he had no tears. I put his bubble on and off he went into the big pool without any fear!! Love you Bubba, not ready to lose you!

Grange Fun!
Today we went to the Grange Fair in Council Rock area...
We were planning on going after naps, but after looking at the weather Bob prefaced me with, "You aren't going to like this..." and showed me the weather map and hourly description. Needless to say, we headed out to the Grange Fair at 1 pm instead of 5 pm.
We had a nice time at the fair. We met up with Grandmom and Granddad, and ate the chicken supper with them. The kiddos got to go on some rides and check out lots of animals.
It was a fun time... we were attempting to watch a "Mutts on Show" demonstration when the skies got dark and thunder was heard. We had to take two (VERY) upset little kiddos to the car and had to stop watching the cute dog show. Five minutes after we got into the car the skies opened up and it poured... cats and dogs... buckets... whatever you want to call it... enough to start flooding the roads!
Oh... and don't forget the rides!!
Morgan ALMOST didn't go on this ride... the nice operator put RJ on and he rode for a second or two and then Morgan changed her mind and he stopped the ride to let her on! Thank you for your patience ride operator!
These last pictures were for a moon bounce type activity. The kiddos got into harnesses and then just had to jump on the air filled trampoline. I helped RJ bounce... he LOVED it and smiled and laughed the whole time. Morgan was scared to try it, and when she finally tried it she didn't love it like RJ did... she did not like when I 'helped' her bounce... she only wanted to do little bounces by herself! (No fun!) When I helped RJ bounce he flew up into the air like crazy and loved it!!
After the Grange Fair (ending abruptly) we headed to Goodnoe's Ice cream and ran out in the downpour into the store to get our delicious homemade ice cream cones. Yum!
Then home with full bellies. tired bodies!
Although he had a couple meltdowns, overall both Morgan and RJ behaved pretty well for getting no naps! Another fun time at the Grange fair!

I love Morgan's expression!
