Partying
Morgan went to a neighborhood girl's 6th birthday party. She took an early nap and luckily RJ was still sleeping when Daddy walked her up the hill to the party.
RJ and I walked up to get Morgan at the end of the party. The girls were all still playing so RJ joined right in. Good old RJ... not afraid to play with the girls! (Oh and did I mention he was wearing Morgan's PINK shoes again... so maybe he fit right in! hehehe)

Orientation Day
Time to meet the teachers! So excited for my babies!! Yet another rainy day... Daddy did well getting rain jackets on them!
Today was Morgan and RJ's orientation day for Preschool. Being 'that' parent already I wrote notes and sent them in with Bob to give each of their teachers. I didn't want to make Bob responsible for all my questions/comments for each teacher.
I am still feeling hesitant about my decision for Morgan. I know SHE will be fine. I just want to make sure she is going to learn. The curriculum (except the Spanish) are things she can ALREADY do. I don't want to be paying all this money for her to just socialize. I can socialize her on my own! I just wish she had a later birthday or an earlier birthday so it didn't make me feel guilty about not sending her to kindergarten like many of her friends, when deep in my heart I know she is ready and would do great!
And... I need to talk to RJ's teacher to tell her about his speech services and his frustration when he is redirected to another activity. Especially if there is anything train-like in the room.
So... hopefully their teachers will call me and I can discuss my concerns about both of them.
RJ and Morgan came home and Daddy said they did well. RJ only had a slight meltdown when he made him leave. Guess that is a good thing?
When I asked Morgan about her new teacher she answered with, "My teacher has short hair (with hand motion) and RJ's teacher has long beautiful hair." I just love her comments!!
~~my Soap Box: I will ALWAYS be T.H.A.T. parent!! I want what is best for my child. I won't be rude about it, but I will get what is needed for my child to be successful!! Whether it be extra work to push them or more support when they struggle. Sorry Morgan and RJ, I am T.H.A.T. Momma!~~

Rainy 1st day!
Today was the first day with kiddos at school. I didn't see them (I get two weeks to do all the paperwork/screenings/testing/visiting/talking, you get the point) but it was the first day for all classroom teachers! Bummer for rain. Rain on the first day really does stink! It is so rejuvenating to see all the happy, excited little kiddos bounding into school. Even the 6th graders are excited to meet their new teachers!
It was a long day for me though! I had to help with the kindergarten orientation... all.day.long. *sigh* I didn't realize that I was requested to be present for the whole day. Didn't really get anything done in my room, but oh well, guess there is always tomorrow!
But... boy did I miss these beautiful lovies!

Weekend in Bradford - Part 2
Took a break to wash off after getting a little muddy on one of the trails. We were only supposed to wash off... until RJ fell in. Oops!

Then the kids started throwing rocks into the water. 'Skipping Stones'

By the way... the pillow was for my rump. Because we had both kiddos on the 4-wheeler with us I sat on the wire rack in the back. The bumps and bouncing got my rear a little bit sore... so I found a way to make it a little bit more cushion-y!
