So... our trip to the ENT.
RJ and Morgan presented sooo similarly yet again! Weird.
They both have fluid in the right ears and slight holes in their right ear drums. The small holes could be because the tube just fell out, there will always be a hole because the eardrum did not fission closed, or something else I forget... BUT with the small holes their ears can drain, so both RJ and Morgan's left ears are clear of fluid at the moment.
Right ears:
Morgan: The doctor suggested for Morgan we wait a month and have another visit to see if the fluid has been reabsorbed by the body. If it is still there then off for her 4th set of tubes.
RJ: The doctor suggested for RJ we schedule a tube/adenoid removal surgery. A tube in the right ear (maybe left too depending on it's situation) and removal of adenoids. The adenoids might be the reason he is continuously getting colds! I mentioned his extremely large tonsils. The doctor looked at them, agreed they were pretty large but then asked if they seem to bother him... does he snore, have sleep apnea, seem fatigued throughout the day. I don't know if he has sleep apnea or not... I don't know if he feels fatigued throughout the day... I know he breathes heavy at night but that, I was told, is not the same as snoring. So... the doctor said we will wait and see what we have with the tonsils... and maybe have a tonsilectomy at the same time as the other surgery. He scheduled it as possible. I am supposed to really listen to him while he is sleeping to see if he shows signs of apnea. I need to decide whether a tonsilectomy should be done or not... his tonsils are just SO stinken' huge!! One side even touches his uvula... sigh.
So we have a follow-up visit for Morgan scheduled and a surgery date scheduled for RJ... time marches on...
