10 year celebration!

I can't believe we have been married 10 years!  Time flies!!!!  Bob wanted to go away for a quick get-away so we hit up NYC.  (Big thank you to MeMom and Pop Pop for watching the kiddos and Nickel-boy).  We got up to our hotel around 9:30 and we parked at the hotel (in North Jersey... just a 6 minute ferry ride away from NYC).  We got dressed into our fancy clothes in the bathroom (I felt a bit strange... but it had to be done) and off into the city we went!  First stop... finding the ticket booth and getting tickets to a Broadway show.  We ended up getting tickets to Mary Poppins for 50% off face value.  That sounds like a deal to me!  We wandered around the theater district and there were all these characters roaming around.  Bob took a picture with Elmo (for RJ) and then he started waving his black bag at him saying tip, tip.  Oh... I see now.  There are all these people dressed up in costumes to make money off of tips.  Ha... p.s. we didn't tip... really?!  We didn't take any more pictures with the crazy costumed people... we took a couple candid shots...

We thought this shot of the flag was kind of cool.
Had to get a shot of New York's finest...

We caught lunch at a nice little sandwich shop and then headed to Mary Poppins...

After the musical we headed to supper.  We went to a small Italian restaurant that my parents suggested.  I forget what it is called now... DaRosina I think... it was yummy food! Here is a shot of us from right after supper.
After supper we ended up meeting up with Alex and Amber.  Alex gave us directions to give the Taxi and we headed towards NYU (New York University).  We enjoyed a glass of wine at a small little wine cellar then headed to a Belgium beer bar (which also had wine).  We stayed with the cousins for several hours and then they hailed a taxi for us and off we went.  I think we ALL drank a bit too much wine/beer...

On Sunday after we got up we headed out to check out the "Cake Boss'" bakery... only waited a couple minutes until we were allowed in (per the line) and picked some (Expensive) yummies to bring home.

After catching breakfast at a local diner we headed out for our ferry ride to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty.  It was a nice afternoon.

We had a great weekend!  Here's to another great (and I am sure quick!) then years!!  The quote that I saw recently and seems to be sticking with me...

"The days are long but the years are short."  LITERALLY!
