What a Sunday

Today has been a crazy (low patience for Momma) day! It all started when...

Both kiddos were up talking to themselves at 7am...urgh! That is early for my kiddos!! BUT they both fell back to sleep until 8:45ish, however I could not get back to sleep. Every time I started to dose I felt like I heard one of them, but nope... figment of my imagination!

Everyone got up... Morgan was dry in her big girl underpants... and everyone was in a great mood to be alive! Then we all got dressed and headed to church...

Church... usually my kiddos are well behaved! I don't have any trouble with them making too much noise! Ha!! Today... RJ was voicing his opinion about EVERYTHING!! Let me back up and comment that we had a 'visiting' priest today that has a severe stuttering problem and sings must of mass... which makes the mass longer than usual... Morgan was doing great... RJ was doing great until the homily. The priest bless his heart was having a hard time saying the word human and had the word human in his homily a lot (talking about human beings). His homily felt like it was dragging and felt a lot longer than my kids could handle! RJ started letting me know he was tired of sitting and listening, however we couldn't stand yet b/c the homily was not over. Morgan was peacefully eating her fruit snacks every now and then saying, "Where priest" in a not-quiet-church voice. We had to leave the church and head to the restroom...where maybe I could quickly feed RJ and he would be content. (Did I mention Morgan was wearing big girl underpants still?) We got into the restroom and the handicap stall was taken... so we stood in a corner and nursed... (side note: the lady that appeared from the handicap stall was definitely NOT handicap). She looked at me with a disgusted look and then I stopped looking at her... You know what I felt like saying... I was frustrated... then the worst possible thing happened... Morgan said, "Momma I go pee-pee." I questioned in your underpants? (Which I did have a clean pair in my purse) No she responded I go potty. MY WORST FEAR!!! PUBLIC RESTROOM POTTY TRAINING. After I got done nursing RJ (which I really didn't like doing in a restroom either) we went into a stall...ha ha...no toilet paper, out of that stall into another one... YUCK... I am still grossed out thinking about it... just imagine...

I was holding RJ trying to pull down Morgan's underpants (without them touching the floor) get her on the toilet (it looked clean to the naked eye...but you know what I saw... creepy germs crawling all over the seat), trying not to watch where she is putting her hands (whoa...RJ almost dropped his toy in the toilet), wiping Morgan clean (she did go, THANK GOODNESS), getting her off the toilet and away from the automatic toilet flush and trying to keep RJ from getting to close to the (germ infested) bowl while trying to keep Morgan's underpants off the floor and her (now germ infested) hands from touching me. Then I looked at the sink...water was all over it... can't sit her there... and oh... automatic sink water, she'll never figure that out... how to wash her hands.. I got soap and water on my hands...touched her hands... she rubbed her hands together, I got paper towels, wet them and wiped her hands clean of soap and told her to dry her hands on the back of her dress... which she did obediently! Then... back into church. Dig in purse for antibacterial had lotion...found it...put some on both Morgan and Momma's hands.

Now... focusing on church was difficult after my mind just wouldn't let go the bathroom fiasco. RJ continued 'talking' and Morgan kept wanting to be picked up...hard to do, but somehow I managed... Church was over...I looked at my watch before getting RJ in his car seat...11:55... my goodness! Usually church is from 10:30-11:25ish... today it didn't get over until 11:55... I guess I wasn't imagining how long I thought mass was!!

Got home and of course on the 10 minute ride home RJ fell asleep. Morgan and I played outside in the HOT sun while RJ slept in the running-air conditioned car!

Morgan did well all day with her big girl underpants until after her nap. She was a little wet after nap (I think she may have had a bad dream)... then she was trying not to have a poop for the rest of the evening... she ended up having a little mess in her panties and I got angry! I tried to have her go on the potty three times with no success and her in tears... I made her sit on the potty until she went... so with hysterical crying she finally went! Anyone have any tricks to make a child understand it is ok to poop? She just doesn't ever want to go no matter what she is wearing on her hiney! I lost my temper and if you ever read this Morgan I am very sorry that I hollered... I just got so upset because you just won't let yourself go! You forgave me for hollering and you were happy because you got your marshmallows for going. Just remember I love you lots and lots!

Time for bed...RJ cried b/c Morgan wanted to go to bed first... poor guy... you need to toughen your skin up a little bit!

On a happy note... Morgan and RJ played together nicely today. Morgan's favorite thing to do today was 'dance' with RJ. I held him up and she sang songs with him, held his hands, and swung his arms around. Too cute!
