Time to Grow!

Today we decided to plant seeds that we received from a recent birthday party. I hope that the plantings grow! It will be exciting for Morgan and RJ to see what happens and to show again how a plant grows from just dirt, seed, water, and sunlight!

On another note... Bob thought it would be funny to take a picture of me sleeping. I had just completed 11 hours of continuing ed hours for my degree and I wanted a little snooze. The kiddos were both napping and it was just a peaceful time. Bob's flashing talents woke me up of course... urgh...

And last but not least... isn't it normal for Rapunzel to be hanging out with the family for supper? She always hangs out with YOUR family, right?

Irish Potato Anyone?

Morgan and Momma made some yummy Irish Potatoes the other night. I wanted a lot so I doubled the recipe... note to self... make two separate batches next time if two batches are needed... we had sugar and coconut everywhere! No bowls were big enough to hold all the ingredients! AND two batches make a ton! (Perfect to tempt my sweet tooth!)

Swimming

Today was swimming night. Fun... unless you have an RJ who screamed the whole time! First Deklan said the water was cold and for ten minutes refused to get in. FINALLY with several threats from his Daddy he got in, but not without kicking and screaming, literally. The water temperature was the same as the air temperature, so even though the water was in the mid 80's it probably did feel cold because the air temperature was no hotter. Soon after Deklan chilled out and got in the water RJ started crying and screaming and whining. After 15 minutes of that I took him away from his instructors (I felt bad) and he snapped out of it. He then played on the steps of the shallow end. Really kid? You are the most stubborn child I know!! Urgh. After swimming Uncle Cameron, Deklan, AJ and us went to McDonald's for supper and a yummy shamrock shake! Yum!

At least my kid NEVER did THAT!!

I really couldn't believe my eyes this morning at church. So much that I couldn't wait until tonight to blog about it, I had to write a quick blog right now! Since having kiddos, especially RJ I feel bad for all the awful things I might have thought or said about crying babies, talking babies, rustling snack bags, and whispering children in church. For all my thoughts and words, I am truly SORRY. I was selfish to think your kid was annoying. My kiddos do all of the above, but as everyone knows the only way for me to attend mass every weekend is to bring the kiddos. NOW, I don't really like sitting in the front row, but when we do then at least Morgan behaves and acts like a 5 year old. When we can't sit in the front row... well, that is a different story for a different day. I am the Momma that comes with a bag full of 'goodies' for church from snacks to books to cups of liquid to the 'top secret' candy JUST.IN.CASE!

I know my kiddos (mostly RJ) have cried, talked loudly, laughed, made noise, left the pew to enter the one in front or behind us, etc., BUT I can say without question that my kiddos never did what I saw today!

+ =
NO GOOD!

A child (probably around 3 years old) ran from the last pew in the church all the way up to the steps of the alter. Yes, the steps, hung out there for a minute or two, then ran (loud running only toddlers and kiddos do) all the way back to his pew (hence I knew it was the last pew in the church). Did I mention this was during the MOST SACRED part of mass with breaking of the bread? Ok... it happens, right? You think your kiddo is kidding and then by the time you realize he isn't kidding you are embarrassed and try to decide if it is worth it to chase him or just let him do his thing and come back to you when he realizes you haven't followed. (Punishment comes after either way!)

Ok, attention directed back to the most important part of mass and the priest. There is those footsteps again... straight back up the center pew up to the steps of the alter AGAIN! WHAT?!?! Yes, AGAIN!!!!!!! This time he took a basket (that collects the offerings from us), put it on his head and stood again at the edge of the steps. I was truly afraid he was going to climb up them! Then he came over to RJ and tried to talk to him. FINALLY he ran (loud footsteps and all) back to the back of church with the basket still on his head. OH.MY.GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would have been mortified if that was my kid, not only once, but TWICE! Twice would NOT have happened with me.

Being a Momma I have patience for A LOT from other kiddos now and understand how hard it is to keep your child quiet for an hour, but REALLY? This will be the talk of the year! AND it took all my willpower not to leave my pew, pick up aforementioned kiddo by the waist and take him to the narfax where he would have sat in time out with a deep throated explanation of why what he did was SO wrong.

P.S. Wish I had my camera with me, because I would have TOTALLY took a picture of that kid!

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS? MEGAN? MELANIE? POP POP?

A March Saturday.

Early risers today started off our Saturday earlier than I would have liked! I guess taking over three hour late afternoon naps helped them catch up on their sleep yesterday afternoon. Some early morning cuddling on the couch started off the day for the three of us. Daddy had the 3-3 shift so he was still sleeping in the bedroom.

After cuddling off to run some errands. Pick up some presents for Morgan's upcoming birthday parties, some random odds and ends for around the house, and a new DVD or two. I also picked up some things for Easter.

Next we headed to a traveling consignment sale that was in Quakertown this weekend. Kind of disappointed in the selection this year. Hoping to spend about one hundred bucks to get both kid's spring and summer clothes... walked away only spending $18.00. I guess better that I don't buy unless I really like OR need the things for RJ and Morgan. I didn't feel like the selection was nearly as good as this past fall and I got to the one this past fall three hours later than this time. Oh well. You win some (like scoring a three piece suit for RJ at the fall sale for $15.00 that he wore to Kelsey's wedding), you lose some!

Got home, ate some lunch, visited with Daddy, played some computer games, RJ had a nose bleed (Yuck), and off to naps the kiddos went. I kinda feel like a nap right now, but the Phillies' game is winning out (while I try to do laundry and clean up the house a bit)!

Our morning breakfast consisted of donuts that were on sale at the store this week. Yum!

Observation Night

Of course... I was the crazy mom toting along RJ... trying to take video... and trying to take still shots. Needless to say, RJ survived, I got some video, and I got ONE still shot. I'm tired!

Learning the sight words and counting!

I do apologize about the quality, I used my cheap video camera... I should buy a better 'cheap' one, but the one I have is so small and handy!

Morgan amazes me EVERY day!
(Her video is about 5 minutes long...)

And SO does RJ!

The kiddos wanted me to post these immediately, so here they are! Hope you enjoyed them as much as I did taping them!!

Wedding Fun!

Today was Kelsey and Pat's Wedding Day! Congrats to both of them!! Here are a few pictures from the day! It was a fun day... early wedding = no nap for the kiddos. They were both in bed and asleep before 8pm! I can't remember the last time that happened! They were exhausted after the afternoon of dancing!
