Philly Trip

I asked Bob if we could go into the city to check out the Macy's light show.  Bobby and Nikki also recommended seeing the Comcast Building light show.  Since the weather was holding off until Sunday we decided to go today!

Well...

The train ride there was fun!  RJ loved it!  Morgan fussed a little bit because she didn't the window view... (sigh).

We headed first to the Comcast building.  We got there about 15 minutes early, perfect timing!  We took a seat on the floor.  Morgan was fussing because she couldn't see, BUT she refused to go up further where she could see...

The light show was great!!  I think we all enjoyed it!

Then we walked over to Macy's.

I am sad to say Macy's was a joke.  We got there like 45 minutes before the start of the show and it was already packed.  When I mean packed, it was swarming with people and all the spots where you can see the whole light show were taken.  I was dissappointed!  (Literally, people were taking pictures of the crowds! I guess swarms of people are that interesting?!)  Macy's only run the show every 2 hours so there was NO way we were waiting around for the following show.  We found a spot (finally) that we could see the whole Christmas tree and the right side of the show.  We couldn't really see anything on the left.  The old-fashioned light display danced to music, but they barely had the music loud enough to hear!  Daddy and RJ ended up leaving where we were to find a 'better' place.  RJ got bored pretty quickly from Daddy's report.

Next we got in line to see Dicken's Village.  We waited for a good 45 minutes in line for a 10 minute walk through the display.  The display was great, but maybe not worth the long wait.
Waiting in line

After seeing Dicken's Villiage we walked through an outside craft like fair at LOVE park, took some pictures and headed to the train.

The train ride home = tired kiddos and bored kiddos and tired parents.  On the way home the train made more stops than coming so it was a longer ride... I was hoping for a magical day in the city, not so much... but we made the best of it!

Did you know a soft pretzel in the city at the art fair cost us $3.00?  Holy cow! On a lucky note, but flashed his badge and the whole family got to ride the train for free both going and coming home from the city.
