Memorial Day

Today was the Memorial Day Parade and ceremony at the newly dedicated memorial. It was a gorgeous day with the sun shining and a cool breeze. I was the spectator and the rest of the family participated.

Winery - quick visit

Bob wanted to take out his MR2 for a ride and we found ourselves at a winery. It was amazing how super crowded it was! We could barely find a place to park! Bob didn't do his research, but apparently there was live music and it said on the website to bring your chairs to enjoy the music on the lawn. Oops, we missed that part. A couple glasses of wine and off we went to finish our drive in Bob's baby, the MR2.

Garden accomplished!

My garden was a bit of a frustration for me this year. This garden is literally on it's last legs... the wood is all falling apart, legit rotting away (because you can't use treated wood due to chemicals so untreated wood slowly rots away). The weeds were out of control also. The original plan was to buy roofing metal slates to create 2-3 foot raised beds. That was the plan for months... until the last minute when Bob decided it was too expensive and too much work. I was pretty upset and disappointed. SO... two weeks later I completed my garden from top to bottom alone, the best I could.

Step 1 - get rid of the weeds

Step 2 - put brackets on some of the wood corners to keep the boxes together (because the rotted posts weren't sturdy anymore)

Step 3 - Adding a mixture of garden soil, top soil and peet moss to spruce up the current soil

Soil all mixed in!

Step 4 - Get those veggies planted!

RJ - new chapter, first job

Today my bubba-boo went to work for his first day of his first job! I can’t believe he has started working. How have my kiddos gotten so old? Good luck bud, I know you will do amazing!! Just remember the 3 S’s (Scoop, Scrape, Smooth), and serve a clean cup with a smile! 

Family supper out

Sometimes our kiddos don't know how good they have it... we asked them to go out to supper with us and both of them whined and complained yet here they are with their delicious meals...

And… we have a licensed driver!

Heading to her driver's test.  We are parked in the parking lot and she's reviewing one last time all the things she needs to remember to pass. She was a ball of nerves!

This is the car she had all 6 of her training hours in and the car she will use to take the test!

Momma sitting in the waiting room as the baby girl takes her driving test. I have all the faith in the world in her but boy am I a little scared and nervous about the future when she passes!

And we have a SUPER EXCITED girl! She PASSED!

We got home and she asked if I could watch her take a spin around the neighborhood on.her.own.

Gulp!!

And here she goes... alone into the driving world. I'm so excited and proud of her but so nervous! Anything can happen behind the wheel. I hope I've prepared her enough to be focused and worried about the OTHER drivers. I pray her friends don't distract her while she is driving. I pray no wild animals run in front of her car. I pray she is a careful and responsible driver. I just pray!

Walk time

Morgan was so brave! She was taking our two pups for a walk and the neighbor asked if she wanted to take his and she said ok, lol.  She is walking all 3!  And look - they aren't even tangled... dog whisperer added to her title!

Last Strayer Concert (EVER!)

Tonight was RJ's last spring concert at Strayer. He had a solo and rocked it!  He was a bit nervous because the notes were 'high notes' but he hit them and he sounded great!
