Christmas Village

We had a wonderful day today! We all hung out as a family (again) and played with all our new toys. Morgan loves her doll house and RJ loves playing with all his toys!! Morgan and RJ enjoy playing with RJ's pegboard together. They make towers and Morgan tries to make patterns, but RJ destroys them... it is great fun to watch!

Tonight we headed to Koziar's Christmas Village. Uncle Cameron, Deklan, and AJ decided to join us! We got there and got all bundled up!! Jackets and hats and scarfs and mittens/gloves and even a blanket for RJ's wagon!! It was around 25 degrees or so while we were there... burr! This is the second time we have been there and I enjoyed it as much as the first time! I am hoping to make this a family tradition for a while at least! The sight when you come over the hill is just amazement! So many gorgeous lights! Beautiful!! We walked around for almost 2 hours! It started with an outside train display. The kiddos liked watching the trains go around, I think there were 5 or 6 trains going at the same time. It was a neat display!! We walked through the Pooh Bear characters, the Grinch story, the story of Baby Jesus, the Charlie Brown characters, Noah's Arc, the Frosty story and much more!! There were also lots of lit up shed like houses that had windows that all the kids could look into. They had many different scenes, to name a few there was a firehouse, Santa's post office, an undersea Christmas, and an ice cream shop! Although it was FREEZING the kiddos did well and got through 3/4 of the display before anyone started commenting that they were tired, or cold, or didn't want to walk anymore!

I was so happy that I got to the Christmas Village this year. It is a sight for anyone who loves Christmas light displays to go to!! Extending Christmas just a few days longer!!

Rounay-Moyer Get Together

Today we visited at MeMom and PopPop's house with the Moyer Family. Morgan enjoys playing with Angela and Hannah. RJ and Felicity tagged along! We had a nice time.

It began snowing while we were still visiting. When we got home Morgan insisted she wanted to go out and play in the snow. I bundled her up and out she went. RJ was disappointed, but he stayed inside. Morgan was outside for almost an hour by herself, and for a little bit with the dogs, but even the dogs wanted to come back inside!

Santa's big gift he brought Morgan was a doll house for her barbies... what she REALLY wanted!!

RJ's big gift from Santa was a bead on wires toy!

Hope everyone gets just what they wished for! Santa brought me Sunday-season tickets to the Phillies!! Yea!!

The kiddos loved all their new things! Lucky kiddos... they were spoiled by Santa, us, MeMom & PopPop, Grandmom & Granddad, Aunt Megan & Uncle Andy, and Auntie Nikki & Uncle Bobby! Wow... thank you!!!

Lights in the parkway

Tonight we went to the Lights in the Parkway display in Allentown. It was pretty, but not sure if it was worth the money... we were going so slowly that the kids sat up front with us to see better! The shots didn't turn out that great, but we can all use our imagination!! :)

Reality Check

I should really be going to bed right now, but I felt I had to write about my day with my little ones.

I have been so wrapped up in the comings and goings of Christmas... from buying all the special gifts to baking cookies to wrapping presents that the time seems to be flying by.

Today I took some time away from the hype of Christmas and took homemade Christmas wreaths to the graves of my grandparents. It is a tradition that I have done since... forever with my parents and will continue doing with my family. So often we forget about the ones who have passed that this few hours out of one day during the holiday season is the least I can do for them who loved me so much!

Although RJ was running up and down the row of graves (literally on on the graves), and Morgan lost one of the anchors to keep the wreath in place we had a nice visit to the graves... did I also mention that between cemeteries there was construction and stopped, slowly creep, stop traffic on the blue route (thank goodness for the DVD player... Elmo's Countdown to Christmas) and the tons of deer poop at the second grave sight that freaked Morgan out, our visit was very nice.

I explained to Morgan what a cemetery was and I think she understood. When I tried to explain to her what graves meant and explain that the bodies were buried in the ground, but the people's heart and soul went up to heaven she asked with ALL seriousness, "Momma, what about there head? And there hands? And there hair?" A bit more explaining and I think she understood the best a 4 year old can! Until she asked when we were going to see them again? I explained a little more (using Polar-Bear as an example), stating that they are with Jesus so we won't be able to see them again for a long time, we just have pictures to remember them by.

We said our prayers while holding hands and asked Mom Mom, Nana, Grandpop, and Granddaddy to watch over us and help us make good decisions throughout the coming year. We told them we hoped they enjoyed the wreath that will remind them of all the wonderful Christmas holiday memories.
